Dongfei Yuqiao is a website platform that created for translators, interpreters, and guides. The platform is designed to facilitate cultural and language exchange, with a particular focus on minimizing communication barriers and strengthening economic ties between Rwanda and China—especially for investors and professionals from both countries. In the future, we hope to expand its reach from Rwanda to East Africa, and ultimately, to the global stage. Currently, Rwanda has over 5,000 Chinese language translators, but most of them lack professional certification and standardized classification, which remains a significant challenge in the industry. To address this issue and elevate the profession to an organized, recognized, and credible level, we plan to start by collecting information from translators through user registration on the platform. Our goal is to support their journey: from simply having an account to becoming effective members of a professional Rwandan-Chinese translators' network—by providing access to standardized qualification exams. we also aim to establish a strong administrative system and, ultimately, form a publicly recognized Chinese Translators’ Association in Rwanda.

Dongfei Yuqiao, a digital platform that serves as a hub for translators, interpreters, and guides. The name “Dongfei Yuqiao”(东非语桥) means East Africa Language Bridge, symbolizing our role as a connector between East Africa and China through language, culture, and service. The platform provides a space for professionals to showcase their skills, access opportunities, join training programs, and eventually become certified through standardized qualification processes.
Dongfei Yuqiao is working closely with the Rwandan Chinese Translators' Association.RCTA is a professional association dedicated to uniting and empowering language service providers across Rwanda, with a special focus on Chinese-Rwandan language and cultural exchange. As the demand for qualified translators, interpreters, and language guides continues to grow—particularly in the context of China-Rwanda cooperation—our union seeks to ensure quality, professionalism, and recognition in the industry.
